Coaching Staff
Jean Marie Burr, Director
Entering her 22nd season at the helm of the Bears, Coach Burr is the winningest coach in Brown Basketball History with 269 wins. She has had 15 winning seasons in the league, and has won 4 Ivy Championships, including 3 consecutive titles (1991-1994), most recently in 2006. The 1994 Bear squad was the 1st team in Ivy League History to attend the NCAA Tournament. She has coached 1 US Olympian, 2 Ivy League Players of the Year, 7 Ivy Rookies of the Year, and multiple All-Ivy performers. She is a member of the New England Basketball Hall of Fame & the University of New Hampshire Athletic Hall of Fame for her achievements as a Coach and a student-athlete. A skilled clinician, Coach Burr is a veteran of many basketball camps and clinics throughout the country; most recently at the YES Clinics at the 2009 Final Four in St. Louis, Missouri.
Kristen Buckley
Entering her second season for the Bears, Coach Buckley is a 14 year veteran of the college coaching ranks. She works as the Bears Recruiting Coordinator. A 1998 graduate of Drake University, where she was a 4 year scholarship player, Buckley works primarily with the Bears Post Players, along with the defensive schemes for Brown.
Colleen Kelly
Coach Kelly ’06 returns to Brown for her first year on the Bears Bench. A member of the Bears 2005-2006 Ivy league Championship squad, Kelly is the all-time leader in 3 point shots made for the Bears. She was also a 2nd Team All Ivy Selection her Senior Year. Coach Kelly primarily works with the Bears Guards and offensive schemes.
Jonathan Parsons
Coach Parsons is in his first season as an Assistant Coach for the Bears after a successful season at New Haven. A 2008 graduate of Sacred Heart, he is responsible for film exchange, scouting opponents, recruiting, and assisting Coach Burr with all facets of the JBurr Basketball Camps.
